The name is inspired by the greek mythology creature Telesto, an oceanid, daughter of Oceanus and Tethys. Their studio is at the port of Pireaus that is the gateway to the islands and the birthplace of rembetiko music.
The influences of the Telestons are surf, rock and roll, psychedelic rock, jazz, thrash, hardcore punk, traditional greek and african music.
